January 2007 article in Decision Magazine

As many of you know, last Nov. 3-5 Okinawa was blessed by the Okinawa Franklin Graham Festival. Most every church and chapel, Japanese and English participated in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Many people were saved and lives will be changed for all eternity. Please click on the following link to read more about the Festival in Okinawa.

Operation Curry

You all remember Chris L. from our church. He was always faithful to attend church and help on special work days. He was recently deployed to the Middle East. We emailed and asked if there was anything he would like to have from Okinawa he said, "How about some thin sliced pork curry from Coco's!". He didn't think it was possible, but Coco's has started packaging their curry in individual serving sizes. We sent him several boxes and he received it on July 4th. This is what he said,
"Hey y'all, we got mail today and I saw the package and started grinning from ear to ear. Absolutely perfect timing, it got here on the 4th of July! I went around to some of the guys I know from Oki and when I gave it to them I might as well have given them a thousand dollars cash-the looks on their faces were priceless." Chris L.

An operation is underway in our church to supply this crew with curry! Some of these mighty warriors were stationed on Okinawa prior to their deployment. They really miss Coco's Curry! If you would like to help supply some Coco's Curry and make their day, contact Jenny Hall at Jenhall1966@aol.com.

Ladies Night Out...at the beach! Saturday May 19th...

Ladies Night Outat the beach!

This Saturday May 19th please join us for a great time of fellowship and the opportunity to hear from another military wife, Marianne R. Jones EdS LMHC. She is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician and currently works at Lester Hospital. She has been married since 1990 to Rick and they have three children, Annie 14, Sam 12 and Jacob 11. She has a wonderful testimony and a word for us on healing and “Keeping the Big Picture in Mind”. One of her favorite scriptures is
Hebrews 12:1-2. 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Make Okinawa Church of God your home church!

Please visit our church, come casual and get ready to worship!

Please Pray for Our Troops

The US Military is under enormous pressure as the number of troops going to Iraq has increased. Please pray for the safety of these troops and ask the Lord to bless them and their families. Each military member, including families at home, is sacrificing so much more than can be measured in days or months. Pray that the Lord will give families support when spouses or children are away. Pray the Lord would give each one courage for the days ahead and multiplied peace.

Remember to thank a military service member when you see them! They are working hard for us!
